Located on 214 Green Bay RD Ballaro is known for its great food but even greater service. Ballaroís gathers its inspiration from the Palermos Ballaro Market and using seasonal midwestern ingredients they offer a contemporary take on Italian Cuisine and Drink. This is a truly traditional cuisine with a modern flare.

They have a variety of appetizers which include Snow Crab Risotto Cakes, Duck Prosciutto Salad and Minestrone Al Forno. Their Four Cheese, Taleggio and Radicchio and HOusemade Sausage pizzas are to die for. They offer a variety of pastas and risottos and their entrees include Rainbow Trout, Scottish Salmon and Amish Chicken. Make sure you leave room for dessert.

2. Maple and Ash

Maple and Ash is a very hip and attractive steak house which is located 8. W Maple St. This two story joint offers an upstairs menu and a downstairs menu but the food and service is sublime regardless of the floor you choose. They also offer various free plates to whet the appetite while you wait for your food and drink.

If you choose to dine downstairs you can start off with Oysters on the Half Shell, Burrata, or Baked in Coals French Onion Soup. They offer various salad options and as a main course maybe some Mussels and Frites, Roasted Lamb Chops or a Sophisticated Grilled Cheese.

Meanwhile upstairs you can pick from various raw/chilled options, some Caviar, King Crab Salad, Shrimp De Jonghe or Sauternes Soaked Foie Gras.  You can also try out a Roasted Seafood Tower which varies in height and size or some delicious Steaks and Chops. Don’t forget to check out the drink menu. But regardless of the floor you choose you will be delighted.

Swift and Sons is known as Chicago’s Premier Steakhouse With A Modern Twist and they are in the same group as Momotaro which speaks volumes in itself. Their appetizers include Foie Gras Torchon, Celery Root Agnolotti and Ricotta Dumplings.

You can have cold or hot shellfish platters and of course chilled King Crab Legs and Oysters by the dozen. They have a variety of soups and salads which include Lobster Bisque, Tomato and Red Onion And Arugula Salad. They offer salmon, sturgeon, chicken and lamb entrees and of course their famous prime steaks.

Start off picking your steak and boy is there a variety to pick from. Bone-in Filet, Bone-in Ribeye, NY Strip, Dry Aged Porterhouse, Chilean Ribeye, Australian Wagyu Strip Loin, A5 Japanese Strip Loin, you name it, they have it.

You then move on to sauces and condiments which are ample and include but are not limited to Bordelaise, Anchovy Garlic Butter, Whipped Lardo and Oxtail Marmalade. As if that is not enough you have an added option to include a Surf and Turf which can be a Nigerian Prawn, King Crab ìOscarî, Marrow Bone or even Seared Foie Gras.
