This community began in 1819, and was actually named after a Roman mythological goddess of the dawn. Much of the architecture of this mansion is Renaissance in appearance, with obvious symmetry designed in the balconies, overhangs and windows. The city now contains about 1500 households, just over 1000 families, with most of the population being of European descent.

The demographics of this town include half of the population represented by married couples, with just over 25% being 18 years of age or younger. The town actually saw significant growth only during the late 1800s, peaking at around 5000 people in the 1940s, and now shrinking to 3700. The median income of the city is about $32,000 a year, making it an average place to live by most accounts.
